Ear Defenders

Ear Defenders or Ear Protectors are items that limit or reduce the sound that gets to your ears. Too much noise or noise too often damages your hearing, which is something that has only become very important in the last few decades. Previous to this, people used to walk around in noisy environment with no idea about the damage that they were doing, or because they didn’t care. What is very unfortunate is that damaging your hearing doesn’t hurt usually, and it’s easy to do. When you realize that the damage is done, it’s too late. These have the ability to stop most noise, and as a result your hearing is still acceptable by the time you hit 60. This will last you for a long time, and they can be used more than once. If you work for an employer, they are legally bound to provide you with a good option for a Hearing Protector, if the noise in the factory or environment is above what is acceptable.

Remember that even a slightly loud noise will do damage to your ears if you spend enough time with it. Ear Defenders don’t have to block out all of the noise, but even just a small portion of this will make a great difference. If you don’t like the idea of foam ear plugs, you can get a set of Custom Ear Plugs made up for under 200 dollars. These tend to be considerably more comfortable, but you need to look after them. They are not the sort of item that you want to be replacing regularly!

Ear Muffs are good in heavy noise areas, especially the Electronic Hearing Protection. These use ear muffs and a small electronic device inside of the muffs which stops any loud noises, or reduces the noise down to a healthy level. There is nothing worse than having to yell at each other when you are wearing hearing protection, and electronic hearing protection limits this. However, you do pay more for it. All it comes down to is that you need to get some Ear Defenders, whatever they are. If you don’t, you will really regret it in a few years time.
